We're proud to announce a new collaboration with Elite Sports. Starting this month, 10th Planet Torrance members and trial students can get no-gi gear — rashguards, spats, shorts, and gis — through the academy at a partner rate. No middleman, no markup surprises, just solid equipment built for the way we train.
Why this matters for new students
One of the most common questions we hear at the front desk is, "What do I actually need for my first class?" The honest answer is: not much. But once you decide to stick around, having gear that fits well and holds up to daily rolling makes a real difference. This collaboration lets us point new students to the right kit from day one — and lets our regulars restock without shopping around.
Free trial students
You don't need to buy anything to try a free Monday or Wednesday 6:30 PM class. Loaner rashguards are available at the academy. The Elite Sports gear is there for when you're ready to commit.
What's available
- No-gi rashguards — compression fit, sublimated graphics, academy colors.
- Spats and fight shorts — reinforced seams, no metal or zippers on the mat.
- Gis for students who want to cross-train — durable weave, competition cut.
- Belts and accessories for ranked students.
How to order
Gear is available through the academy. Talk to the front desk during class hours, or mention it when you book your trial and we'll have sizing info ready. Members get the partner rate automatically; trial students can order at the same rate when they sign up.
